Top 10 Netflix Anime

As of late, Netflix has been seriously working on making anime a big part of its content arsenal. For people who are new to anime, this is the best place to start. This list will be a top 10 best anime available on Netflix as of 7/2016 with 10 being a good anime and 1 being the best available on Netflix. This list will just be short series and will not include movies or animes that run over 100 episodes like Fairy Tail, Bleach, or Naruto.

1. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fmab-poster

A story about two brothers that is so beautifully told that it deserves an award that is the equivalent of an Emmy for anime. Edward Elric and his brother, Alphonse, lost their mother at a young age. To bring her back, they decide to learn as much as they can about the magic of alchemy. However, Alchemy’s greatest taboo is a rule against bringing back the dead. The brothers try anyway, and pay a high price. Unlike the original Full Metal Alchemist anime, this one follows the manga to the dot. With great characters, killer soundtracks, beautiful animations, this show has it all. If there is any one anime that everyone must see, this is it.

2. Death Note

Lets say you found a book, and with this book you could kill anyone you wanted by writing their name in it. What would you do with it? Well, when Light, the main character of this story, finds the book, he decides to create a Utopian society by killing every criminal he can. So when a detective whose real name is unknown shows up to try and figure out who is killing all these criminals, an epic battle of the minds ensues. This anime will have you constantly thinking. This is one of the few instances people actually might find themselves routing for the bad guy. This is a great place to start for anyone that is new to anime.

3. Attack on Titan

Aot

In this anime, when man eating giants roam the earth, humanity is forced to retreat behind walls. To most, the walls provide safety, but in reality they are nothing more than a cage that restricts true freedom. This anime isn’t afraid of being gruesome. In my humble opinion, if George R.R. Martin wrote an anime, this would be it.

4. Fate/Zero

41125

The premise of this anime: History’s greatest legends gather in a war for the holy grail. If you want to see beautiful animation then watch this anime. If you want great characters watch this anime. In these two categories, this anime leaves most in the dust. It is a must watch for any anime fan.

5. Kill la Kill

Where do I even start with this one? A girl is on a quest to find out who killed her dad with the help of a dress that gives her powers. That sentence is a very rough description of the plot and to people who have watched this anime it doesn’t even begin to cover what this anime is really about. This anime is weird but it is hilarious and entertaining to no end. It has an art style that is exceptional. If you have been wanting to see something that is unique, then wait no more because you found it.

6. Soul Eater

3904

This is a cool little anime that is pretty fun. The premise is that there is a school where Meisters, people who control death weapons, and death weapons, people who can transform into soul consuming weapons, come together. Together they work towards consuming 99 evil souls of humans, and 1 witches soul. Once that happens, the weapon can go on to be used by Death himself.

7. Gurren Lagann

If you like mech anime then you will love this anime. In a future where humans are forced underground by the spiral king who rules earth, a young boy named Simon and his new friends try to resist. This anime is all about believing in yourself. If you like animes that have motivational themes and robot battles that kickass, then this one that you definitely like.

8. Magi

There are two seasons of this anime up on netflix, split up into two shows, but I’m going to list this as one anime. The first Season is called Magi: the Labyrinth of Magic, the second is called Magi: Kingdom of Magic. This anime has themes of friendship, adventure, and Good vs. Evil.

9. Rurouni Kenshin

A classic from the golden age of anime, Rurouni Kenshin used to be on cartoon network’s toonami in the early 2000’s. At the time it was known in the United States as Samurai X. The story follows a legendary samurai that is trying to leave his past behind him during a time when samurai’s are no longer allowed to exist. If you saw this on toonami when you were younger, watching it over again will definitely give you a sense of nostalgia.

10. K

Homura_Clan

K, also known as K project is anime with some of the best animation and art style around. If you took Instagram filters and applied them to an anime, this is what that anime would look like. When Rival Groups clash in this epic anime you will be amazed by the visual pleasure that is the k anime.

So that’s my top ten Netflix anime list. Do you agree or disagree with what i picked? Is there anything you would change? Let us know in the comments or even give us your own top 10!
